About Klipwerks

Built in the Free State, for businesses like the ones down the road.

Klipwerks builds websites and runs marketing for South African small businesses that never got round to being online, or got a site years ago that nobody can update.

Our story

It started with an observation.

Small towns are full of good businesses that are invisible online. The plumber everyone recommends. The café with the best coffee in town. The guesthouse paying Booking.com 15% on guests who were coming back anyway.

Their customers search on a phone. If the search turns up a competitor, a directory or a booking platform, that's where the money goes. A fast, simple website with WhatsApp built in fixes most of that.

So that's what we build. No agency overheads, no template factory. Real sites for real South African small businesses, priced so they pay for themselves.

How we think

Three principles we won't break.

01

Honest before impressive

We tell you what a website will and won't do. A guesthouse site won't replace Booking.com, and a plumber's site won't ring the phone on day one. We'd rather lose a sale than make a false one.

02

Fast before fancy

One weekend from chat to live site. No three-month discovery phase, no bloated proposal. You need a site that works this week, not a six-figure digital transformation.

03

Save before sell

If the site won't earn or save you more than it costs, you shouldn't do it. We do the maths with you before you pay a cent, and we'll tell you if it doesn't add up.

Where we work

Why start in the Free State?

It's home, and it's close enough to sit with owners, see the shop or the rooms, and understand how they work. You can't build a useful site from a spreadsheet in another province.

Small towns also run on reputation. Do good work for one owner and the next one hears about it over coffee. We started with guesthouses in Clarens and the eastern Free State, and now build for any small business, anywhere in South Africa, with WhatsApp and phone support for every client.

A 10-minute chat. No obligation.

We'll tell you honestly whether a website makes sense for your business, and what it would cost.
